Cougar Golfers Enjoy Nationals

Championship Tournament Tests Trio

(Chautauqua, NY) - The HCC golf team closed out their season last week, playing in the NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. A trio of Cougars participated in the national tournament event held at the beautiful and extremely difficult Chautauqua Golf Course. 

Alex Gochinski (Greenfield, MA / Frontier Regional HS), who was the Cougars' strongest performer throughout the season, led the way at the national championship. Gochinski, who also plays baseball at HCC, shot a team-best 88 during round one and round three of the tournament. He sank six birdies during the event, five a which came on the course's back nine. 

HCC Golf's appearance at the national tournament was the program's third straight. They won the New England championship in each of their past three seasons to earn their spot at nationals. Let's go Cougars!
