Men’s Basketball Bounces into Break
Cougars Finish First Half of Season
(Holyoke, MA) - Men's basketball wrapped up the first half of their season on Saturday afternoon, falling 85-60 at home to local rival Springfield Technical CC. The Cougars will enjoy a few weeks off for winter break before returning to competition in mid-January.
Edson Mwandemani (Springfield, MA / Putnam HS) has been one of Holyoke's strongest performers this season, leading the Cougars in points with 311 and points-per-game, averaging 23.9. Mwandemani leads the team in steals with 43 and free throws made with 58 and is second on the team in rebounds with 94. Dylan Rohan (Holyoke, MA / Holyoke HS) has been stellar during the first half of the campaign and is currently second on the team in points with 249. Rohan leads the Cougars in three-pointers with 36 made from outside the arc and has a team-leading free throw shooting percentage of 87.5%. James Fitzgibbons (Hadley, MA / Hopkins Academy) has been dominant on the boards, leading Holyoke in rebounds with 106.
Men's basketball has a 2-9 regional record and a 2-11 overall record. Both of their wins have come on the road. Holyoke will return to action with away games on January 16th and 21st. Their next home game will be on Saturday, January 25th at 3pm against Mass Bay CC. Let's go Cougars!
