Cougars Baseball Trio Selected to All-Region Team
Rosemond Earns All-New England Honors
Three HCC baseball players have been selected to the All-New England team for the 2025 season. Sophmore Sean Rosemond was chosen to the second team while sophomore Alex Gochinski and freshman Xavion Maldonodo were named honorable mention.
Sean Rosemond (Springfield, MA / Longmeadow HS) – Sophomore – Outfielder / Pitcher - #8
2025 – 2nd team All-New England, Team Captain
Rosemond was one of the Cougars' most dominant players throughout the season, leading the team in multiple offensive categories. Rosemond had a team high batting average of 417, on-base percentage of .527 and slugging percentage of .528. He led the team in stolen bases with eight and walks with 15. Rosemond was second on the team in hits, RBI's and runs. He is an outstanding leader and had two superb seasons playing in the Cougar uniform.
Alex Gochinski - (Greenfield, MA / Frontier Regional HS) – Sophomore – Second Baseman
2025 – Honorable Mention All-New England
Gochinski had a remarkable sophomore season for Holyoke, leading the team in hits with 37 and runs with 21. He was second in stolen bases and on-base percentage and had the third best batting average.
Xavion Maldonoao (Chicopee, MA / Chicopee HS) – Freshman – Catcher / Pitcher - #8
2025 – Honorable Mention All-New England
Maldonado led the way among the Cougars' freshman, playing outstanding baseball throughout the year. Maldonado was second on the team in batting average and slugging percentage and was third in hits, RBIs and on-base percentage.
