Men’s Soccer Ready to Hit the Pitch
Returners to Guide Cougars into 2025 Campaign
Men's soccer will open their 2025 campaign on Saturday, September 6th hosting non-regional opposition Hudson Valley CC (NY). The Cougars' opener is set for a 3:30pm kickoff and will be the second game of a soccer doubleheader with the Lady Cougars playing Hudson Valley at 1:30pm.
The Cougars have six sophomore players back from the 2024 team, bringing a wealth of experience to this year's squad. Leading the returning group are Mahamatnour Moussa (Springfield, MA / Sudan HS), Nicolas Tobin (Chicopee, MA / Chicopee Comprehensive HS) and Lucas Castro (Chicopee, MA / Chicopee Comprehensive HS). Moussa was Holyoke's leading scorer last season, earning second team All-New England honors. Tobin was chosen as the team MVP during his freshman season. Castro, whose parents both played soccer at HCC, was consistently one of the Cougars' most dominant performers in 2024.
Men's soccer will look to make its way back to the postseason after missing out on the playoffs in 2024. Holyoke played in the regional championship game in 2023. Let's go Cougars!
