Women’s Soccer Primed to Kickoff 2025 Season
Strong Sophomore Class Leads Lady Cougars
The Lady Cougars soccer team will kickoff the 2025 season with a home game on Saturday, September 6th at 1:30pm. Holyoke welcomes a tough non-regional opponent in Hudson Valley CC (NY) for their opener. HCC will host a soccer doubleheader on Saturday's opening day with the men's soccer team facing Hudson Valley at 3:30pm.
The Lady Cougars will be led by a strong returning class with six players back from last year's regional finalist team that had a 12-4-1 overall record and a 7-2-1 regional record. Among the returners are three players who earned All-New England (All-Region) honors in 2024 in Madisyn Davis (Ware, MA / Ware HS), Paige Hebert (Minnechaug Regional HS / Monson, MA), and Emily McGrail (Ware, MA / Ware HS). Davis, a first team All-Region selection last year, scored 17 goals in 17 games as a freshman and racked up 40 total points before being named as the Cougars' Player Award recipient.
In 2024, the Lady Cougars fell in a heartbreaking penalty kick shootout at the end of a 1-1 tie against CC of Rhode Island in the New England championship game. Holyoke has appeared in 20 consecutive regional finals, winning the New England championship on 12 occasions. Let's go Cougars!
