Lady Cougars Claim Seventh Straight Victory

(Lincoln, RI) - Women's volleyball traveled on Thursday to take on regional opponent CC of Rhode Island. The Lady Cougars won the first two sets of the game and seemed to be on their way to another straight set victory before their opposition threw a wrench in the plans. Holyoke dropped the next two sets before winning a thrilling fifth set 17-15 to emerge victorious 3-2 in the match. The win is the Cougars' seventh in a row.

Alianiz Bonilla (Springfield, MA / Commerce HS) was stellar for Holyoke in the win, leading the way in digs with 32 while registering seven kills. Caidence White (Springfield, MA / Central HS) had 29 digs in the contest and led the Cougars in kills with ten and points with 11. Serymar Santos (Santo Domingo, DR / Holyoke HS) served brilliantly, registering five aces and as the team's setter tallied 24 assists.

Women's volleyball improves their record to 13-2 overall. They are 13-1 against NJCAA teams and 12-1 regionally. Holyoke will travel on Saturday, October 18th for their next game, hoping to avenge their only regional loss of the season in their rematch with Massasoit CC at 1pm. Let's go Cougars!
