Women’s Volleyball Dominant in Pink Out Game

Cougars Strong Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness

(Holyoke, MA) – Women's volleyball sported their October pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness on Thursday night, cruising to a 3-0 straight set victory over Roxbury CC. The Lady Cougars had beautiful signs hung all around Golas Court and pink ribbons lining the stairs of the bleachers. Holyoke had a dominant performance in their pink, winning the sets 25-11, 25-9 and 25-8.

The Cougars put forth a true team effort in the win with 10 of 11 players scoring at least one point and eight players tallying at least a one kill. Holyoke was particularly dominant with their serves, registering 24 aces served by eight different players. Isabelle Garutti (Springfield, MA / Sabis International Charter HS) and Serymar Santos (Santo Domingo, DR / Holyoke HS) led the way in aces, each serving six. Desirae Destiny Dejaria Robinson (Springfield, MA / Sci-Tech HS) set her season-high for assists with 12 in the matchup.

Women's volleyball has an overall record of 15-3. Their regional record is 14-2 and their NJCAA record is 15-2. The Lady Cougars had to unfortunately forfeit a recent game due to a scheduling mix up, but Thursday's win was their eighth straight in games decided on the court. Holyoke travels Saturday before hosting their regular season finale and sophomore night on Tuesday, October 28th at 7pm versus Berkshire CC. Let's go Cougars!
