Volleyball Victorious in Regular Season Road Finale
Lady Cougars Undefeated Away from Home
(Taunton, MA) – Women's volleyball traveled to play their regular season road finale on Saturday, earning a 3-0 straight set victory over Bristol CC. The Lady Cougars won the sets 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18. Holyoke is undefeated on the road, having won all nine of their away games this season.
Jaylanie Nieves (Holyoke, MA / Chicopee HS) led the way offensively in the win, scoring ten points including a team-leading seven kills. Isabelle Garutti (Springfield, MA / Sabis International Charter HS) led the Cougars in digs with 21, followed by Alianiz Bonilla (Springfield, MA / Commerce HS) who had 14. Nieves, Garutti and Bonilla each served two aces in the matchup, with Holyoke totaling ten.
Women's volleyball improves to 16-3 overall. They are 15-2 regionally and 16-2 against NJCAA teams. The Cougars have one regular season game remaining, a home matchup on their sophomore night on Tuesday, October 28th at 7pm versus Berkshire CC. Holyoke will be the top seeded team for the New England Championship Tournament. They will host a semifinal on Friday, October 31st at 7pm and, should they win, the final on Saturday, November 1st at 1pm. Let's go Cougars!
