Women’s Soccer Ready for Regional Semifinal
Lady Cougars Set for New England Tournament
Women's soccer will travel to CC of Rhode Island on Thursday, October 30th to play in a regional semifinal set to kick-off at 3pm. The Lady Cougars enter the postseason as the #3 seed (8-4 overall, 6-4 region) in the New England standings with CCRI at #2 (8-4-1 overall, 7-1-1 region). The winner of Thursday's semi will advance to the New England championship game to be played on Saturday, November 1st. The Cougars dropped both regular season matchups between the sides this year. Holyoke and Rhode Island met in the New England championship game in each of the past two seasons, CCRI emerging both times, including by way of a penalty kick shootout last year. The teams met in a #2 versus #3 semifinal played at CCRI in 2022, the Cougars winning 1-0. Holyoke has played in the New England championship game for 20 straight seasons, winning the championship 12 times. They have won their semifinal on all four occasions when they were the #3 seed, including in 2021, '22 and '23. Let's go Cougars!
