Women’s Hoop Cruises to Road Victory

Lady Cougars Stay Perfect in Region

(Brockton, MA) – Women's basketball remains red hot to start the season, handily defeating regional opponent Massasoit CC 76-23 on Thursday evening. The regional win is the third straight for the Lady Cougars and second in a row on the road.

Vivian Timmons (West Springfield, MA / Guilderland HS) led the charge offensively for Holyoke for the second straight game, tallying 21 points in the victory. Timmons shot 3 for 5 from three-point range and her 21 points is the most scored by a Lady Cougar this season. Annastacia Dixon (Keene, NH / Keene HS) dominated the boards, grabbing 24 rebounds, the most in that category by a Cougar this year. Dixon scored 16 points, giving her a double-double in the contest. Emily McGrail (Ware, MA / Ware HS) put up 14 points, shooting 7 for 8 from the floor. McGrail snagged eight rebounds and had five blocks, the five blocks being another high mark for a Lady Cougar this season. Tatiyana Zuniga (Westfield, MA / Westfield HS) led Holyoke in assists with seven and dropped 12 points which included a pair of three-pointers.

Women's hoop has a perfect 3-0 record against regional opponents and against fellow NJCAA teams. They are 3-1 overall. Their scheduled home game for this Saturday, November 15th has unfortunately been cancelled. Holyoke will travel for their next two contests before back-to-back 5:30pm regional home games on December 2nd and 4th. Let's go Cougars!
