Lady Cougars’ Storied Season Comes to an End
Women's Volleyball Closes Campaign at DIII Championships
(Cedar Rapids, IA) – Women's volleyball saw their superb season come to a close on Friday afternoon, falling to Finger Lakes CC (NY) in the consolation bracket of the NJCAA Division III Volleyball Championship. The Lady Cougars fought valiantly to keep the score close in two of the games' sets, including the last set of their season which ended 25-23 in favor of their opponent.
Serymar Santos (Santo Domingo, DR / Holyoke HS) put forth another strong national tournament performance, leading Holyoke in points, aces and blocks in the contest. Santos registered nine points, including five service aces, and had two blocks. Caidence White (Springfield, MA / Central HS) led the Cougars in digs with eight and kills with four and served an ace. Jaylanie Nieves (Holyoke, MA / Chicopee HS) had five points, including three kills and an ace. Alianiz Bonilla (Springfield, MA / Commerce HS) tallied seven digs and an ace.
The New England champion Lady Cougars volleyball team finishes the season with a 19-6 overall record. They finished 18-2 in the region and were 19-4 against fellow NJCAA teams. Four of their players will be announced as members of the All-Region (All-New England) team and seven athletes can return to play in 2026. Let's go Cougars!
