Women’s Basketball Triumphant at Home
Lady Cougars Sail to Second Straight Win
(Holyoke, MA) – Women's basketball notched their second straight win on Tuesday night, defeating regional opponent Roxbury CC 70-28. The Lady Cougars stormed out of the gate on their home court, racking up 41 points in the first half on their way to victory.
Vivian Timmons (West Springfield, MA / Guilderland HS) led Holyoke in scoring for the second straight game and registered a double-double in the contest. Timmons scored 17 points and grabbed ten rebounds to earn the double-double. She led the Cougars in three-pointers, sinking three from long range, and in steals with seven. Annastacia Dixon (Keene, NH / Keene HS) tallied 16 points and brought down nine rebounds. Cadince Wells-Robinson (Conway, MA / Frontier Regional HS) scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the win while leading Holyoke in blocks with three. Each total was a season-high for Wells-Robinson. Emily McGrail (Ware, MA / Ware HS) had ten rebounds and led the Lady Cougars in assists with six.
Women's basketball improves to 5-2 in the region and 6-4 overall. They will host local rival Springfield Technical CC in Holyoke's fall semester home finale on Saturday, December 13th at 1pm. Let's go Cougars!
