Four Lady Cougars Selected to All-New England Team

Four athletes from the 2025 Lady Cougars' soccer team have been named to the All-New England (All-Region) team. Three of Holyoke's sophomores have been chosen as first team All-New England selections, one of whom additionally earned the team's Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors. One freshman was chosen as a second team All-New England selection and a fifth Cougar, also a freshman, has been named as the team's Player Award recipient.

Emily McGrail (Ware, MA / Ware HS) – Sophomore - Defender - #18
2025 - 1st Team All-New England, Lady Cougars' Most Valuable Player
2024 – 2nd Team All-New England
McGrail had an outstanding sophomore season for the Lady Cougars, shutting down opposing attackers from her outside back position. Holyoke's team MVP and a 1st team All-New England selection, she put up stellar offensive numbers by joining the attack in the run of play and getting forward for corner kicks and dead ball situations. McGrail scored 7 goals and added 8 assists for 22 points in 11 games played. Two of her goals were quick restart free kicks, both of which were spectacular finishes. She had two assists come from her corner kicks and another two from her free kicks.

Madisyn Davis (Ware, MA / Ware HS) – Sophomore – Forward - #10
2025 - 1st Team All-New England, Team Captain
2024 - 1st Team All-New England, Lady Cougar Player Award Recipient
Davis was Holyoke's most dynamic attacking player, a gifted goal scorer with remarkable speed and an unmatched work rate; she racked up offensive numbers at a furious pace. The Lady Cougars captain and a two-time 1st team All-New selection, Davis led this year's team in goals with 13 and points with 31. In her two seasons with the Cougars, she tallied 30 goals and 11 assists for 71 points in 28 games played. Davis is 6th all-time for women's soccer in career goals scored and 9th all-time in career points scored. She tied an all-time women's soccer record for goals scored in single game when she ran wild, potting five during a regional home game.

Paige Hebert (Minnechaug Regional HS / Monson, MA) – Sophomore – Midfielder / Defender #9
2025 - 1st Team All-New England
2024 - 1st Team All-New England
Unquestionably the Lady Cougars' most skillful player and quite possibly the most skilled player in the New England region this year, Hebert had a sensational sophomore campaign. A confidently poised player with the ball at her foot, Hebert can dismantle opposing defenses in multiple ways, at times with ease. A two-time first team All-New England selection, she has tremendous vision of the field and is an excellent passer, leading Holyoke in assists this season with nine. Hebert can take defenders on, beating them on the dribble, and possesses a powerful shot. She had two hat tricks this year and nine total goals with 27 points in 11 games played.

Ivelise Aponte Gonzalez (Chicopee, MA / Chicopee HS) – Freshman – Defender - #8
2025 – 2nd Team All-New England
Aponte Gonzalez was Holyoke's top shut down defender, most games entrusted with the task of preventing the opposition's best finishers from finding scoring chances. An incredibly hard-working player, the freshman takes pride in battling tenaciously defensively. Aponte Gonzalez reads the game well and is confident with the ball, maintaining possession smartly with passes from the back.

Samantha Lowe (Ware, MA / Pathfinder Regional HS) – Freshman – Midfielder - #14
2025 - Lady Cougar Player Award Recipient
Lowe is the Lady Cougars' Player Award recipient, perfectly suited for the honor. An award given to an athlete who exemplifies how an HCC athlete should carry themselves on and off the field, Lowe plays the game hard and is a class act on the field and away from it. The freshman center midfielder attended every practice and game for Holyoke this season and was the team's best player during the post season. Lowe scored four goals and tallied five assists in 11 games played.
