Cougars Secure Regional Victory

Men's Basketball Sharp at Home

(Holyoke, MA) - Men's basketball put forth their strongest performance of the season on Tuesday night, besting regional opponent Bristol CC. The Cougars were sharp on their home court, scoring over 40 points in each half on their way to an 84-71 victory.

Dylan Rohan (Holyoke, MA / Holyoke HS) took charge of the offense, scoring 24 points in the win, including a pair of three pointers. Rohan is Holyoke's season leader in points with 439 and in three pointers with 43. Gabriel Ibekilo (Belchertown, MA / Belchertown HS) and Teyrik Smith (West Haven, CT / Naugatuck HS) each registered a double-double in the contest. Ibekilo's was his third of the season and third in the past five games. He had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the matchup and shot a perfect 3 for 3 from three-point range. Ibekilo has tallied double digits in rebounds in seven straight games. Smith's double-double was also his third of the campaign. He had 16 points and ten rebounds in the matchup and shot a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line. James Fitzgibbons (Hadley, MA / Hopkins Academy) led Holyoke with 14 rebounds in the win and Kerteek Cheema (Morgan Hill CA / American HS) sank three three-pointers. 

Men's basketball improves their regional record to 2-17 and their overall record to 2-22. They will be away for their next game before closing their season with a sophomore night at home on Tuesday, February 17th against UCONN Avery Point at 6pm. Let's go Cougars!
