Men's Basketball Season Comes to an End

(Holyoke, MA) - Men's basketball put the finishing touches on the 2025-26 campaign, closing out the season at home with a 78-46 loss to UCONN Avery Point. The finale served as the Cougars' sophomore night with the team's three second-year players honored during a pregame ceremony and with posters, photos and decorations hung all around Golas Court. The men's basketball program paid tribute to sophomores Dylan Rohan (Holyoke, MA / Holyoke HS), James Fitzgibbons (Hadley, MA / Hopkins Academy) and Kerteek Cheema (Morgan Hill CA / American HS), all of whom had stellar careers at HCC.

A member of HCC basketball's 500-Point Club, Rohan scored 470 points this season and 946 in his two years playing for the Cougars. He sank 47 three pointers and 83 free throws this year. Fitzgibbon ends the campaign as the Cougars' leader in rebounds for the second straight year. He had 173 boards this season and 363 during his career at Holyoke. He was second on the Cougars in three-pointers made with 24 and in assists with 74. In Tuesday's season finale, Fitzgibbons led the way in rebounds with ten while freshman Teyrik Smith (West Haven, CT / Naugatuck HS) led in points with 18.

Men's basketball increased their win total with a victory over Bunker Hill CC during the final week of the season. They finish the 2025-26 season with a 3-19 regional record and a 3-24 overall record. Ten members of this year's team can return to play as sophomores next season. Let's go Cougars!
