Baseball Victorious in Home Opener
Cougars Strong in Season's First Regional Game
(Holyoke, MA) – Men's baseball played their 2026 home opener at Cougar Field on Thursday afternoon, their first regional (conference) game of the season. Holyoke put forth a strong performance, defeating Roxbury CC 14-4 in seven innings.
Sophomore Matt Drobiak (Holyoke, MA / South Hadley HS) led the way at the plate, registering three hits and three RBIs in the contest. Drobiak hit his first home run of the season, blasting a solo shot that easily cleared the left field fence. Freshman Dylan Litherland (Houston, TX / Klein Oak HS) earned the win from the mound, throwing 11 strikeouts while pitching a complete game.
Men's baseball has a 1-0 regional record and a 2-5 overall record. They will travel to play a doubleheader against Roxbury CC on Saturday evening. Holyoke will host York CC (ME) for a doubleheader on Monday, March 30th with the first game starting at 12pm. Let's go Cougars!
