Baseball Claims Both of Regional Road Doubleheader

Cougars Sweep Series with Roxbury CC

(Boston, MA) - Cougars baseball hit the road on Saturday evening, playing a doubleheader against regional opponent Roxbury CC. Holyoke cruised to consecutive victories, claiming the first game 10-0 and the second 19-2. The Cougars swept their series against RCC, having won 14-4 when the sides met at HCC on Thursday. All three games of the series were completed in fewer innings than scheduled due to NJCAA baseball's mercy rule.

Jon Paul Chaloux (Suffield, CT / Suffield HS) was strong on the mound and at the plate for the Cougars on Saturday. Chaloux pitched a one-hitter in the first game, tossing seven strikeouts in five innings pitched. He was a combined 4 for 5 from the plate in the doubleheader and scored four runs. Chaloux had a double in the first game and a triple in the second. Alex West (Hadley, MA / Hopkins Academy) played well in the doubleheader, registering a pair of RBIs and a pair of runs in each game. Nathan Kaczuwka (Ware, MA / Ware HS) knocked in five RBIs in game two and Rafael Rivera (Holyoke, MA / West Springfield HS) drove in three. Matt Drobiak (Holyoke, MA / South Hadley HS) was on the mound for game two, earning the win while tossing four strikeouts.
