Cougars Collect Consecutive Victories on Consecutive Days
Baseball on Season-High Five-Game Winning Streak
(Holyoke, MA / Keene, NH) - Cougars baseball secured back-to-back victories against a pair of non-regional opponents this week, the wins coming on consecutive days. Holyoke defeated Keene State JV 6-2 on the road on Tuesday, a day after a 16-0 home win over Landmark College. With the victories, the Cougars extend their current winning streak to a season-high five games.
Jon Paul Chaloux (Suffield, CT / Suffield HS) was exceptional on the mound on Tuesday, earning the win while giving up just one hit. Chaloux threw ten strikeouts and pitched the complete game. Elijah Villanueva (Stamford, CT / AITE HS) led the way from the plate against Keene State JV, batting 3 for 5 with a double and two runs scored. Alex West (Hadley, MA / Hopkins Academy) hit 2 for 4 and Ben Caron (Conway, MA / Frontier Regional HS) drove in three RBIs.
Men's baseball has an overall record of 11-18 and a regional record of 7-8. They will next play a three-game series against regional opponent Quinsigamond CC that includes a home doubleheader on Saturday, May 2nd beginning at 12 noon. The results of their games against QCC will determine if Holyoke qualifies for postseason play and Saturday will be the regular season home finale. Let's go Cougars!
