Pair of Men’s Basketball Sophomores Honored with Awards

Rohan named MVP and All-Region for Second Straight Year

Two Cougars basketball players have earned honors for their outstanding performances during the 2025-26 season, each a second-year sophomore member of the Holyoke team. One becomes a two-time All-Region (All-New England) selection and two-time HCC team Most Valuable Player.

Dylan Rohan (Holyoke, MA / Holyoke HS) - Sophomore – Guard - #12
2025-26 - 3rd Team All- New England, Cougars' Most Valuable Player
2024-25 - Honorable Mention All-New England, Cougars' Most Valuable Player
Rohan put together two truly remarkable campaigns while playing for the Cougars. Chosen as the team's Most Valuable Player after both his freshman and sophomore seasons, the two-time All-Region (All-New England) selection racked up stellar career numbers in multiple statistical categories. Rohan became a member of HCC's 500-Point Club early during this season and ended his career as a Cougar with 946 points. He is the men's basketball program's fourth leading scorer all-time. Rohan led Holyoke in points, three-pointers made, free throws made and free throw percentage during both of his seasons. He scored 470 points this year and 476 as a freshman and sank 114 three pointers during his HCC career.

James Fitzgibbons (Hadley, MA / Hopkins Academy) - Sophomore –Forward - #15
2025-26 – Cougars' Player Award
Fitzgibbons was a dominating presence under the hoop for Holyoke for the past two years, leading the Cougars in rebounds in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. He grabbed 190 boards this year and 173 during his freshman campaign. An incredibly hard worker and a class act, Fitzgibbons is a fitting recipient of the Player Award that is given to an individual who exemplifies what a Cougar athlete should be in the way they carry themselves on and off the court.
