Women’s Soccer Collects Home Victory

Lady Cougars Score Eight on Day of Remembrance

(Holyoke, MA) – Women's soccer hosted Bay Path University on Saturday afternoon, a day in which the HCC Athletic Department retired the jersey of former player Amanda Cummings in a pregame ceremony (Click here for full story). The Lady Cougars had a six-goal second half on their way to an 8-1 home victory.

Paige Hebert (Minnechaug Regional HS / Monson, MA) led the offensive onslaught, scoring a hat trick while adding an assist. The hat trick is Hebert's second of the season and second in the past three games. Emily McGrail (Ware, MA / Ware HS) popped in a pair of goals to go along with a pair of assists. Holyoke's leading scorer, Madisyn Davis (Ware, MA / Ware HS), tallied a goal and two assists and Sam Lowe (Ware, MA / Pathfinder Regional HS), scored a beauty of a goal to go along with an assist. Rachel Miller (Westfield, MA / Homeschooled) potted a goal and Ivelise Aponte Gonzalez (Chicopee, MA / Chicopee HS) and Madison Smith (Springfield, MA / Putnam Vocational Technical HS) each notched their first assist of the season.

Women's soccer has an overall record of 7-3 and a regional record of 5-3. They host Bristol CC in their next matchup on Wednesday, October 22nd at 4pm. Let's go Cougars!
